ActiveViam has appointed Dean McIntyre as Chief Revenue Officer, adding a senior commercial executive with more than 25 years of experience in financial data, analytics and technology.

McIntyre joins the risk technology company from SimCorp, where he was Chief Commercial Officer and led its global commercial organisation. He worked with some of SimCorp's largest clients and helped shape the company's commercial strategy and business growth.

Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at FactSet, Bloomberg and Bi-SAM across sales, client service, product and strategy. He began his career as a Performance and Risk Specialist at UBS Global Asset Management.

The appointment comes as ActiveViam looks to expand in established and emerging markets. The company sells risk and analytics software to financial institutions, with a focus on capital markets and treasury functions.

Chief Executive Officer Shelley Magee said the hire comes at an important point as ActiveViam seeks to grow its international commercial operations.

"We're delighted to welcome Dean to ActiveViam. He has spent more than 25 years working at the intersection of data, analytics and technology across investment management and fintech, and joins at a time when we are entering an exciting new phase of growth. His experience building and scaling global commercial teams will be invaluable as we expand our presence in both established and emerging markets," Magee said.

McIntyre will be responsible for revenue growth at a company that positions its Atoti platform as a tool for enterprise risk work in financial services. The software is used to give firms a single view of risk across trading, treasury and regulatory activities.

Commercial hire

The appointment reflects a broader pattern across financial software suppliers, many of which have been strengthening senior commercial teams as banks, asset managers and commodity market participants review risk systems and data infrastructure.

For ActiveViam, bringing in an executive with experience across established market data groups and specialist software vendors suggests an effort to deepen relationships with large financial institutions while pursuing new business across different capital markets segments.

Before joining ActiveViam, McIntyre held one of SimCorp's top commercial roles. The software group is known for serving investment managers and other buy-side institutions. Earlier positions at FactSet, Bloomberg and Bi-SAM gave him experience across market data, analytics, workflow tools, and performance and attribution software.

That career path spans both front-office data products and the risk and performance systems used by investment firms. It also includes client-facing and product-focused roles, a mix many software companies value when selling complex systems to large institutions.

Market standing

ActiveViam has recently appeared in industry rankings covering risk and compliance technology providers. The company was ranked 40th overall in the Chartis RiskTech100 2027 report and 35th in Chartis Research's Energy50 2026 ranking of technology vendors serving energy and commodity markets.

Those rankings indicate the company's profile in sectors where firms need to process large volumes of trading and risk data. ActiveViam's products are aimed at institutions seeking both real-time and historical analysis for trading, risk and treasury decisions.

The company also markets Atoti as a common semantic layer that clients can use to build their own applications or buy packaged tools for regulatory and risk metrics work. That approach places ActiveViam among providers seeking to combine flexible data architecture with specific financial use cases.

McIntyre pointed to that product position in his comments on the move.

"ActiveViam stands out for its relentless focus on clients' risk challenges, with an AI-native platform that turns market volatility into clear, actionable insights at lightning speed. I look forward to working with Shelley and the senior management team to drive the next phase of growth and ensure Atoti is on the shortlist for every Enterprise Risk decision," McIntyre said.
