BackBox unveils network platform, reports record profits

BackBox has launched its Network Cyber Resilience Platform and reported the strongest financial performance in its history for the year 2024.

The Network Cyber Resilience Platform is designed to enhance efficiency by alleviating the challenges faced by network and security teams. These teams often grapple with the complexities of managing multiple tools, executing repetitive manual tasks, and operating with limited resources.

The platform introduces key components including Automated Lifecycle Management, Compliance & Policy Management, and Network Infrastructure Integrity. The Automated Lifecycle Management feature allows quick backup, validation, and restoration of network devices, with over 3,000 pre-built automations available to manage, upgrade, and patch devices across various vendors via a single interface.

The Compliance & Policy Management component facilitates the running of compliance checks to ensure devices align with industry and internal standards, automatically remedying any configurations that do not meet these criteria.

Network Infrastructure Integrity focuses on identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, providing options for automatic mitigation through configuration changes or software updates.

In 2024, BackBox achieved SOC 2 Type 2 Compliance, ensuring its operational and security controls meet high standards. Additionally, the platform supports compliance with the European Union's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) through an extensive Automation Library boasting over 2,300 pre-configured automation processes.

The company has also been recognised for its performance within the industry. BackBox was the only vendor named a strong performer in the 2024 Gartner Voice of the Customer for Network Automation Platforms. It earned the highest "willingness to recommend" score and received the highest star ratings in that report.

BackBox's position in the industry was further reinforced when it was named a High Performer in the Winter 2025 G2 Grid Report for Network Automation Tools. It achieved top scores in categories such as Best Results, Best Relationship, and Best Usability, with 98 percent of its customers rating it 4 or 5 stars on G2.

Awards presented to the company in 2024 included the Network Computing Software Product of the Year and Network World's Best of Enterprise Network Award. These accolades highlight BackBox's market presence in areas such as Cyber Resilience, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Network Vulnerability Remediation, and Cyber Security Excellence.

Leadership changes in 2024 included the appointment of Rekha Shenoy as CEO and board director. Previously, she managed the Industrial Cyber Security business unit at Belden and has extensive experience in orchestrating acquisitions. John Evarts also joined the company as Chief Operating Officer, bringing his expertise from scaling early-stage software companies, most recently at Mediafly.
