TCS & Jaguar TCS Racing extend AI partnership in Formula E

TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing have extended their title partnership in a multi-year deal, with TCS also becoming the Formula E team's Official AI Partner.
The agreement expands a relationship that has run for five years and comes as Jaguar TCS Racing enters Formula E's GEN4 era as the reigning Teams' World Champions.
The expanded arrangement will focus on using artificial intelligence across racing operations and engineering to improve trackside decision-making and feed lessons into the development of Jaguar's next generation of electric vehicles.
Jaguar TCS Racing closed the GEN3 era with the Teams' World Championship after a season that included four victories and 10 podiums. The team has now won the title twice during its partnership with TCS, reinforcing its position as one of Formula E's strongest outfits in recent seasons.
For TCS, the deal deepens a broader relationship with JLR that has lasted more than a decade. The Indian technology services group has been seeking a larger role for AI in client work, and motorsport offers a visible testing ground for data-led methods under tight operational constraints.
Expanded role
Under the renewed partnership, AI is expected to be applied to race strategy, engineering analysis and operational efficiency. The work will build on the use of cloud and digital twin tools already introduced in the team's race programme.
One of the central systems is TCS's Virtual Vehicle Validation Model, known as V3M. Jaguar TCS Racing engineers use it to test software changes, run simulations and assess options before making decisions in time-sensitive race conditions.
That matters in Formula E, where teams operate within tightly controlled regulations and narrow performance margins. In that environment, software, data analysis and simulation can influence setup choices and race execution as much as mechanical development.
Abhinav Kumar, Global Chief Marketing Officer, TCS, said: "This partnership demonstrates what is possible when world-class teams come together with a shared ambition to innovate. At the close of a great season, culminating in the Teams' World Championship, we are pleased to extend our partnership and build on that momentum as Formula E enters the GEN4 era. With this renewal, we will further harness AI and advanced technologies to unlock new performance opportunities to help Jaguar TCS Racing compete for more podiums and championship wins."
Race to road
JLR has long used Formula E as part of its electric vehicle development work, and the latest agreement keeps that link in place. Data and engineering insights from the racing programme will continue to inform future Jaguar road cars.
Chris Thorp, Chairman of JLR Motorsport, which operates Jaguar TCS Racing, said: "Our partnership with TCS has been instrumental in helping Jaguar TCS Racing push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and innovation. As the Championship enters the GEN4 era, this collaboration helps us drive the future of all-electric motorsport while informing the next generation of Jaguar cars. Extending our partnership with TCS is grounded in proven delivery, shared values, and a clear vision for how data and AI can elevate motorsport performance."
The renewed tie-up also reflects the growing overlap between motorsport and software development. Electric racing series such as Formula E have become useful environments for manufacturers and technology suppliers to trial digital systems, battery management approaches and simulation tools that may later influence commercial vehicle programmes.
Outside competition, the partnership has also supported education work. Through TCS's Ignite My Future initiative, nearly 30,000 students in 16 countries have used racing-related lesson plans and materials tied to design, strategy and data analysis since 2023.
Hundreds of students have also taken part in trackside experiences linked to Formula E events. That has given the partnership a public-facing role beyond branding on the car and team kit, while supporting broader efforts to attract younger people to engineering and data-focused careers.
TCS has a long presence in the UK market and works with more than 200 British brands, according to the company. Earlier this year, it said it planned to create 5,000 new jobs across the UK over the next three years.
The company generated more than USD $30 billion in consolidated revenue in its last financial year, underscoring the scale at which it is seeking to build commercial uses for AI across sectors including automotive, manufacturing and financial services.
Jaguar TCS Racing, meanwhile, enters the GEN4 period with momentum after securing two of the past three Teams' World Championships. Jaguar returned to Formula E in 2016 and has since recorded more than 20 race wins and more than 60 podiums in the all-electric series.
As an official manufacturer team, Jaguar develops its own powertrain components, including the motor generator unit, transmission and inverter. That structure gives the team a direct link between competitive development and the technical direction of future electric vehicles.
The latest extension means the relationship with TCS will remain in place as Formula E moves into its next technical cycle, with AI and simulation set to play a larger role in how the team prepares, races and analyses performance.
