TD Merchant Solutions launches Clover platform in Canada
Wed, 15th Jul 2026 (Today)
TD Merchant Solutions has launched the Clover commerce platform in Canada, extending its merchant offering for business clients.
The platform combines point-of-sale hardware, payment processing, eCommerce tools, and business management software into a single system for small and medium-sized businesses. It is being introduced through TD's relationship with payments technology provider Fiserv.
Businesses using the service will be able to accept debit, credit, and digital payments while accessing tools for sales tracking, tax reporting, employee management, and inventory control. The offer is aimed at sectors including retail, restaurants and service businesses.
The Canadian rollout adds Clover devices, including Flex, Mini, Station and Kiosk, to TD's merchant services range. It also includes access to Clover's app marketplace, where merchants can add third-party software to support operations and customer management.
TD presented the launch as part of a broader push to simplify day-to-day administration for business owners by bringing payments and operational tools together in one place. Merchants can use the system for in-store transactions, mobile payments and online sales through plug-ins, hosted checkout tools and payment links.
"Canadian businesses are increasingly looking for simpler, more integrated ways to run their operations, from accepting payments and managing staff to tracking inventory and accessing real-time data insights," Shayda Alizadeh, Vice President, TD Merchant Solutions, said.
"By delivering the Bank's trusted advice and business banking expertise together with Clover's innovative point‐of‐sale technology, we're helping clients access the tools they need to process payments, manage their business and grow with confidence."
Merchant market
The launch reflects continued competition among banks and payments groups to win merchant clients with bundled services rather than standalone card processing. Providers are increasingly linking payment acceptance with broader software tools for stock control, staffing, reporting and online ordering, especially for smaller businesses that want fewer separate systems.
For TD, adding Clover gives merchant clients access to a recognisable point-of-sale brand through the bank's distribution network. It also lets the lender tie payment services more closely to its business banking relationships, while Fiserv expands Clover's reach in the Canadian market.
"Fiserv is thrilled to work with TD, combining Clover's powerful commerce platform with the trusted advisor relationships of TD bankers to help Canadian businesses grow and thrive," said Brian Green, Country Head, Fiserv Canada.
Broader business
TD is one of North America's largest banks by assets and serves 28.1 million clients across Canadian personal and commercial banking, US banking, wealth management and insurance, and wholesale banking. The group had CAD $2.1 trillion in assets at the end of April and more than 13 million active mobile users in Canada and the US.
The new offer sits within TD Merchant Solutions, which serves businesses that need card acceptance and related payment tools. By combining point-of-sale devices, eCommerce options and management software in one package, TD is seeking a bigger role in merchants' day-to-day operations rather than acting only as a payment processor.
The service is designed for a range of business types and sizes, with hardware configurations that can be adapted for counter service, table service, mobile selling and self-service settings. Access to third-party applications also allows merchants to tailor the system to their workflows.
Clients using the platform will be able to manage payments, point-of-sale activity and business administration within a single ecosystem. The aim is to reduce the need for multiple separate tools and save business owners time.
