Ignition & Financial Cents integration boosts workflow for firms

Tue, 12th Aug 2025

Ignition has announced an integration with Financial Cents aimed at automating the client engagement lifecycle for accounting firms in Canada and the US.

The integration combines Ignition's proposal-to-payment automation with Financial Cents' workflow management functionality, allowing accounting firms to automate and streamline processes from client onboarding through to project delivery.

Workflow automation

With the new connection, firms can automate proposals, billing, and payments within Ignition, and initiate project creation and assignment in Financial Cents as soon as a client signs a proposal. This also ensures client information is kept synchronised across both platforms, which reduces the need for duplicate data entry and minimises errors.

"With our Financial Cents integration, we're helping accounting firms break free from manual processes that slow them down," said Greg Strickland, CEO of Ignition. "They can onboard clients and get paid faster, allowing them to refocus their energy on scaling the business instead of managing paperwork."

The direct integration eliminates the need for third-party services such as Zapier, which Ignition customers had previously used to connect with Financial Cents in order to automate elements of their workflow.

Improving efficiency

Both companies describe the integration as a step towards greater efficiency and a simplified client experience. As part of the announcement, Shahram Zarshenas, CEO of Financial Cents, commented:

"With this integration, firms will be able to streamline their client engagement and onboarding process to drive a better client experience," said Shahram Zarshenas, CEO of Financial Cents.

Dawn Brolin, CEO of Powerful Accounting and a long-time customer of both platforms, welcomed the direct integration. Brolin noted improvements in both cash flow and productivity as a result of using Ignition and Financial Cents together:

"Ignition and Financial Cents have completely transformed how I manage my firm," said Dawn Brolin. "Our cash flow has improved, our team is more productive, and clients notice the difference. Now that I can directly connect two of my favourite platforms, we'll spend even less time on onboarding and setup - focusing on the real work instead."

Context and availability

The new integration is available to firms operating in Canada and the US. Financial Cents is the latest in a series of practice management integrations for Ignition, following recent launches with Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess TM and Karbon earlier in the year, according to the company.

Both platforms are used widely by accounting firms, with Ignition reporting more than 8,000 businesses utilising its sales, billing, and payments automation features. At the same time, Financial Cents states it is trusted by over 10,000 accountants, bookkeepers, and CPAs across North America. These numbers reflect a significant demand for automation solutions among small to medium-sized accounting practices.

The integration supports automation of repetitive administrative tasks and aims to free up time for practitioners to focus on client work. Firms using Financial Cents have reported saving an average of eight hours per week on these tasks, according to the company.

This latest move is part of Ignition's broader approach to expand its ecosystem of practice management integrations to offer clients more choices in how they handle business operations from proposal through to service delivery.
