Oracle enhances Fusion Cloud supply chain with new AI agents

Thu, 16th Oct 2025

Oracle has announced the addition of new AI agents within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to assist supply chain leaders in optimising performance across their supply chains.

The new AI agents have been developed using Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications. They are designed to support planners, managers, and logistics teams by automating supply chain processes, optimising planning and fulfilment, and enabling faster, data-driven decision making.

Chris Leone, Executive Vice President of Applications Development at Oracle, said, "As supply chains become increasingly complex and customer expectations continue to rise, supply chain leaders can create a competitive advantage by re-architecting their operations for resilience and responsiveness. The new AI agents embedded in Oracle Fusion Applications help supply chain leaders take this opportunity to optimize supply chain performance and drive business impact by enabling them to make faster, more informed decisions and automate time-consuming tasks."

AI agents and workflow integration

The AI agents are integrated into Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing (SCM), part of the suite of Oracle Fusion Applications. They run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and are described as being prebuilt with advanced security. Native integration within Oracle Fusion Applications allows these agents to be accessed at no additional cost.

The agents are embedded within the existing workflows of businesses. This integration is intended to enable users to accelerate their processes and improve the quality of decision making.

New agents for planning and procurement

Amongst the newly announced agents, several are dedicated to planning, product lifecycle management, and procurement. The Planning Advisor for Exceptions and Notes Agent assists inventory planners in quickly analysing supply chain plan details, reducing analysis time, and expediting decisions. It can filter planning data by various parameters and deliver concise summaries of key exception alerts and planning notes.

The Product 360 Advisor Agent enables inventory planners to reduce supply disruptions by evaluating product availability, open orders, and stock usage across locations. It can identify stocked or utilised locations for specific products, potentially supporting alternative strategies during incidents such as product recalls.

Procurement teams can make use of the Product Comparison Advisor Agent, which generates side-by-side comparisons of different products or components, taking into account technical specifications, costs, lead times, and compliance or business attributes. Another tool, the Quote to Purchase Requisition Assistant Agent, assists in automating the supplier quote intake to requisition process, capturing quotes received via email and generating the corresponding purchase requisitions.

Support for maintenance, manufacturing, and inventory

Several agents are focused on maintenance, manufacturing, and inventory management. The Disposition Assistant for Rejects Agent aids production supervisors by providing instant access to inspection details and past work orders for items rejected during production, while also recommending automated actions for efficiency.

The Maintenance Work Order Builder Agent is designed to help maintenance teams manage and update work orders, assign resources, and streamline follow-up tasks, thereby aiming to ensure timely repairs.

Inventory managers can address stock shortages using the Item Shortages Analysis Agent, which identifies out-of-stock items, provides supply level visibility, and suggests approved substitutes or alternative sources.

The Material Expiration Analysis Agent allows managers to spot expiring material lots and assess on-hand quantities against current and projected demand, helping to reduce waste. The ASN Creation Assistant Agent is designed to improve supply visibility by simplifying the creation of Advanced Shipment Notifications using text-based input.

Logistics and order management enhancements

In the domain of logistics and order management, the Outbound Compliance Agent reviews outbound shipments against regulatory requirements and summarises policy standards such as hazardous material limits and placarding. The Fulfilment Processing Assistant Agent aids fulfilment managers in expediting urgent shipping requests by quickly retrieving order status, recommending optimal packing solutions, and executing shipping operations.

The Sales Order Assistant Agent supports customer service representatives by enabling the rapid creation of sales orders and providing recommendations for deliveries. The Data Access Advisor for Sales Orders Agent is developed to help administrators understand data access rules and resolve security or access conflicts. Order management teams handling exceptions may employ the Order Exception Assistant Agent, which identifies order processing errors, suggests solutions, and enables teams to implement corrections.

Custom AI agent development

Aside from the prebuilt AI agents, Oracle also provides AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, enabling customers and partners to develop, test, and deploy their own AI agents or agent teams tailored to enterprise needs.
