Wipro has appointed Angan Guha as President and Chief Executive Officer of its Americas 2 Strategic Market Unit, effective 8 December 2026.

Guha returns to Wipro after serving as Global Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Birlasoft. He will report to Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Srini Pallia and join Wipro's Executive Leadership Team.

He previously spent more than 28 years at the IT services group, where he held several leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer of the Americas 2 business unit.

In his new role, he will oversee client relationships and business growth across banking, financial services and insurance, energy and utilities, and manufacturing in the region.

The appointment comes as large technology services companies seek experienced leaders with established client ties in major industry verticals. Guha has worked across the same sectors during a career spanning more than three decades.

Leadership return

Pallia announced Guha's return in a statement.

"We are delighted to welcome Angan to Wipro's leadership team," said Srini Pallia, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Wipro. "His experience in driving business growth, combined with his focus on innovation and execution, will be valuable as we strengthen our Americas business. I am confident that his leadership will help us accelerate growth, deepen client relationships, and deliver greater value to our clients."

Guha also commented on his return and the market outlook.

"I am honored and excited to rejoin Wipro at such a pivotal time for our industry," said Angan Guha, President and Chief Executive Officer, Americas 2 Strategic Market Unit, Wipro. "The evolving AI landscape presents unprecedented opportunities for businesses to innovate and lead. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Wipro and helping clients navigate this transformation, drive meaningful business outcomes, and build on Wipro's strong consulting and technology capabilities."

Sector focus

His remit includes banking, financial services and insurance, as well as energy and utilities and manufacturing. His return also highlights the value companies continue to place on executives with long-standing customer relationships and direct operating experience in regional business units.

At Wipro, Guha has already led the Americas 2 operation, a background that may help ease the transition as major IT services companies face pressure to win larger transformation deals while maintaining existing accounts. Wipro did not disclose any structural changes to the unit alongside the appointment.

Guha holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Pune and has completed management programmes at the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.

Wipro employs more than 240,000 people and operates in 65 countries, according to company information. Guha will serve on the Executive Leadership Team while overseeing the Americas 2 business.
