GTreasury unveils AI engine for treasury risk insights
GTreasury has launched an artificial intelligence-based risk insights engine that analyses interest rate and foreign exchange exposures for corporate finance teams and produces automated summaries for senior executives.
The product, called GSmart Risk Insights, sits within GTreasury’s existing Exposure Management software and uses the company’s GSmart AI platform. It interprets treasury exposure data, flags unusual activity and potential policy breaches, and generates narrative reports for boards and chief financial officers.
GTreasury positions the new engine for CFOs and treasury departments that manage large volumes of market risk data. These teams often consolidate exposure reports from multiple systems and regions while market conditions change rapidly.
The company said many treasury functions still rely on spreadsheets and manual reviews of charts and dashboards. It said this process can delay decision-making and make risk discussions more tactical.
Embedded risk analysisGSmart Risk Insights runs inside current Exposure Management workflows rather than as a separate application. Users access the new features through the same interfaces that they use for existing GTreasury risk tools.
The engine reviews foreign exchange and interest rate positions, compares them with risk policies, and monitors key metrics. It then highlights issues that the system assesses as significant for portfolio performance or compliance with internal rules.
Ben Hipwell, Senior Director of Product Management at GTreasury, said many finance leaders face time pressure when they review risk positions.
“CFOs and treasurers need immediate clarity on risk positions to take confident paths forward, especially in volatile markets,” said Ben Hipwell, Senior Director of Product Management, GTreasury. “GSmart Risk Insights shifts teams from firefighting to optimization. We put intelligent analysis inside Exposure Management, so users spend less time interpreting charts and more time acting on them.”
The engine includes four main modules for risk workflows. These are the Spotlight Panel, Insights Panel, Executive Summary Generator and Contextual Risk Analysis.
AI-driven panelsThe Spotlight Panel presents a condensed view of high-priority items within a portfolio. GTreasury said it surfaces policy breaches, upcoming maturities, large changes in costs and hedge ratios that deviate from defined targets.
The Insights Panel gives explanatory detail behind individual risk items. It offers clickable views with drivers, historical data, contextual factors and potential implications for the company’s risk profile.
The Executive Summary Generator produces concise narratives that can be used in board materials and stakeholder updates. These summaries describe the current exposure landscape, main risk movements and any exceptions or breaches that require attention.
The Contextual Risk Analysis feature adds market and business context around the exposures. It sets current positions against historical patterns and external conditions that may affect the company’s hedging or funding strategies.
GTreasury said all AI-generated content within GSmart Risk Insights is traceable back to the underlying data. Users can review the origin of each insight, which data sources fed into it and how the system reached its conclusions.
Audit and governanceThe company emphasised governance and data protection features within the engine. It said GSmart Risk Insights aligns with ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27001 standards. It also said it has designed the platform with EU AI Act readiness in mind.
Data from each customer runs in isolated environments at the tenant level. GTreasury stated that customer data is not used for model training. The system maintains audit trails for insights and their inputs.
These controls are intended for treasury teams that operate under internal audit rules and regulatory oversight. Many corporate treasuries must demonstrate how they identify, measure and monitor financial risks.
GTreasury said its risk engine keeps visibility over every AI-generated output. Users can inspect the source information behind specific alerts, explanations and summaries.
Workflow impactThe company said GSmart Risk Insights replaces a range of manual tasks. These tasks include scanning exposure charts, reconciling multiple spreadsheets and drafting board commentary for risk positions.
GTreasury said teams can shift time away from data gathering and standard reporting. It said they can focus more on adjusting hedging strategies, evaluating scenarios and engaging with business units on risk topics.
Mark Johnson, Chief Product Officer at GTreasury, said the launch reflects a focus on the more time-intensive parts of treasury analysis.
“Today’s launch reinforces our commitment to delivering AI-powered solutions that create measurable value for our industry,” said Mark Johnson, Chief Product Officer at GTreasury. “We focused on the hardest parts of risk analysis, including interpreting complex visuals, identifying what truly matters, and explaining it clearly to executives. Now teams can move faster and make decisions with confidence.”
GSmart Risk Insights is available for organisations that use GTreasury Risk Management products. The company plans enhancements that will extend the engine across additional risk dimensions beyond interest rate and foreign exchange exposure.
